Spring Swap!

I received my package from Lisa yesterday, and it was chock full of fabulous goodies! She must have read my mind to know that I have been craving some new, pretty yarn- look at the 3 skeins of awesome Noro! I think they are destined to become a springtime shawl for me 🙂 She also include an awesome teacup candle that she made herself! I have this burning on my counter right now, I love it! There is also yummy handmade lip balm, a package of Miss Saigon iris bulbs (so pretty!), a Knit Simple magazine, glass magnets, a pretty pink shade of nail polish, 3 Luna bars and a bag of jellybeans! The jellybeans have been poured into one of my little vintage pyrex bowls here on my desk, for snacking 🙂 Thanks for such a great swap Lisa! Click here to check out everyone elses goodies!

Springtime swap!

Wow, I haven’t used my personal blog in quite a while! I usually do family updates and whatnot on Facebook now, and I blog about my coupon deals at my other blog (singlemamasavings.blogspot.com). I’m hoping this still allows me to participate in this cool swap hosted by Shortmama! The basis is I put together a box full of my favorite things and send it to my partner, and she does the same! Sounds like a great time to me 🙂

I love Walgreens :)

Paid $0.44 each for the John Freida Shampoo and Conditioner (there are 2 of each)
The Revlon Colorstay Eyeshadow was a MM of $0.05 🙂

I used manufactorers coupons, Walgreens coupons, and a 15% off your entire order Walgreens coupon. Love it.

Love you forever baby.

Even though we never met,
I know your face by heart.

Even though we never spoke,
I can hear your voice.

Even though I never held you,
I feel your weight in my arms.

Even though we’ll never lie beneath the same stars,
you will always shine above us

Treat bags were made by mama, in the 3 hours prior to going out 🙂 No time like the 11th hour to get things done!

Cute things :)

Cute Halloween/Harvest cake the wee people and I made yesterday:

Cute Dream banner I made for my living room (my living room is painted gray with lots of red and black, and the kitchen on the other side of this banner is painted red, so it goes really well!). It looks a little wonky, I need to straighten and rehang it:

And my cute Jack! Can’t believe my monkey is 3 years old!

Target Trip

Ran to Target with Mom today and picked up a few great deals! There is a $4.00 coupon available online for any Hungry Hungry Hippos game (also lists a few other games), you can use it on the travel size version which only costs $4.99 at Target! Also, Glade Scented Oil candles in the pretty tins are on sale for $1.66, and many of them have $1.50 off coupons right inside! Can’t beat $0.16 for a great smelling candle! My total for this purchase was only $2.24, and $0.77 of that was tax!! Nice 🙂 The HHH game will be put aside for a Christmas present for one of the kiddos, and the candles are burning as we speak….ahh, I love the smell of clean linen candles!

Knitting news

I recently finished knitting a scarf for a swap I was in on Craftster. I used the Karaoke Cable Scarf pattern, and Patons Classic Merino wool in a beautiful green (it was a Twilight swap, and I chose the green to represent the lush greenery that is Forks!). I’ve worked with cables once or twice, but this is hands down the most cabling I’ve ever done. It was so simple, and the effect was awesome! I forgot to snap a picture before sending it out, so I had to wait for my swap partner to post one before I could share. I will definitely be making more for Christmas presents!

Fun mail day!

I love getting mail, and sign up for all the free samples I can find. After all, most of them come with coupons! Todays haul was quite impressive! I’m a member of Psst! , a General Mills community that occasionally sends out samples and coupons. Today I received a box containing a full size package of Nature Valley Granola Nut Clusters (they are delicious!!) along with 10 coupons for $1.60 off! That is definitely one of the best samples I’ve received! I also received two cereal samples, Kashi Honey Sunshine (with a $2.00 off coupon), and Total Blueberry Pomegranate (with a $.75 coupon), both of which are quite tasty. Rounding out the day was a set of samples from Always/Tampax (including a coupon for a totally free box of Always Infinity!) and a Parents magazine. The magazine stumps me, as I’ve never requested a subscription, and yet have received one in the mail, addressed to me, for the past 2 or 3 months. Hmm?
