This doll is so freakin cute! (The pattern is here: http://www.marthastewart.com/article/black-apple-doll ) I ended up overstuffing her limbs a wee bit, but she’s still adorable. She doesn’t have a name yet, because she is intended for Natalie’s 6th bday next week and I’m sure Natalie will think up something. Can you believe my baby girl will be 6? I feel old! Not that turning 26 myself last week helped. Oh yeah, and you’re supposed to enlarge the pattern by 150%, but I couldn’t figure out how to do that with my computer, so I printed one out normally and brought it to Office Depot. The nice folks there blew it up for me for a whopping $0.19 INCLUDING tax *lol* Thats all I have for now, be back later with more crafty goodness to share!

Knitting again

Today is a sick day for everyone…I feel like sitting on the sofa and watching movies until I fall asleep. And what crafty activity to do at the same time? Why, knit something of course! I haven’t touched my needles in MONTHS, and have been feeling a very strong urge to do so lately. I’ve picked out the yarn to make something for Milli’s wee peanut, and now I just have to finish this post and pick out the right size needles, then I’m off! Hope you all have a good weekend.

sweet!

my new arm candy :)

I’m so bummed.

I just got a reply back from the publisher of my leaflet (I had emailed asking when exactly next month my patterns would be available) and was informed that there had been some changes to the schedule and my publication was being pushed back. To the 3rd quarter. Of NEXT YEAR. I could cry.

We’re here.

And, it’s not so bad. They did quite a few renovations since I moved out last year, and so far I haven’t had any problems with neighbors or anything. We moved in last Friday, and are still unpacking the last few things. 740 square feet doesn’t stretch very far. Oh well. It’s liveable, and it’s cheap. Things could be worse! D and I have been talking a little lately, and he’s making all his usual promises to start sending child support. I’d love to believe it, but I have to have cash in hand first. Until then…we’ll see. Kids are doing well, they like the new place and their new room. They are on spring break this week, and once school starts up again next Tuesday, we’ll have a little extra walk to get to the bus stop (different school zone now, but they can still finish out the year at the old school), but even that is not so bad. Overall, life is good at the moment.

Ugh, how I wish I had a digital camera right now! My mama’s birthday is tomorrow, and I whipped her up an art bag from scratch. Cool retro print canvas, hand stitched denim applique spelling out “art” on the front, blue cotton lining with a wicked pocket, and a cool purple leather handle. It’s for her to carry her supplies to her classes and such. I can’t even begin to describe how cool it is! Maybe I’ll get mom to snap a picture so I can share. I’m so proud of it :) Oh yeah, in case you didn’t know, my mom is an artist!  She and I just had a really great time at Clay Day at Artists Oasis , and made several really cool pendants. One of the ones I made is going into a swap package for a buddy over on Craftster. I’m so excited to be into swaps again…this one is Fairytales and Folklore, and I’m having an absolute blast.

So see, I’m trying to get back into the swing of things. Pulling myself out of the crushing depression of a few months ago. Living my life to the best of my ability, and enjoying my kiddos every day. Life is good :)

Why is it…

That nearly every holiday eve I find myself up late, finishing up things that could have been done during the day, and assembling a delicious breakfast strata? MMmm, the smell of bacon frying at midnight…gotta love it! We have big plans for a breakfast picnic in the park tomorrow morning, but we’re going to have to play it by ear. Gabe and my mom are both not feeling well. Tummy aches, headaches, fever. Hopefully with some tylenol and rest they will feel up to it tomorrow, but we’ll see. If not, I’m gonna have an awful lot of food for the day! Easter baskets are a little leaner this year, but I’ve come to realize something. My kiddos are always grateful for their gifts no matter what the size/amount, and I think I’ve been going a little overboard these past few years. This year they both got a new coloring book, a new tub of bubbles, and a new puzzle. All from the dollar store. Oh, and candy of course. Lots and lots of candy. After all, (religion aside, as we are non-practicing catholics) isn’t Easter mostly about the candy?! I know they’ll be pleased as punch, and thats what matters to me. Those little smiles :) Oh, and baby Jack got a wee little basket too, with his own bubbles and a few little chocolate bars! I thought about getting him a coloring book, but not until after the fact and I didn’t have a chance to get back to the store. It’s all good though, Gabe and Natalie will share with him, because boy does that boy like to color! I hope we are able to meet up with my parents at some point tomorrow so I can get pictures of the kids (damn digital camera took a dive). They have grown so much since the last time I shared, especially my wee man. 18 months old already, can you believe it? Chatters up a storm, climbs all over everything and loves to get into general mischief :)

I’m off to bed now…the Easter Bunnymom has to get up earlier than the wee people, so she can hide the beautifully dyed eggs! I hope you all have a great holiday, and don’t eat too much candy!

Ooooh, and one last thing- A big congrats to Lynlee, new surromomx3! I’m so proud to know this fabulous lady.

Living

So, we’re still here. Not doing the best, not living on the street either. At the end of the month we will be moving back to the dreaded ghetto, where the rent is cheaper. Although, the complex has done a rather nice job of sprucing the place up since I left, and (so they say) have gotten rid of a lot of the bad tenants. We’ll see…stay tuned for more neighbor drama, I’m sure!

So I’m on a packing/weeding out crap mission today and don’t have much time to post…but wanted to pop in and say hello. I’m selling off a bunch of my knitting/crochet books that I no longer need (I have a bit of an addiction, and this is only a small portion of my stash!) so let me know if anyone is interested. So much for that.

I’m not going to be able to blog for a good long while. The Jerk has decided not to pay child support anymore. Not at all (and he owes $1351 a month). I do not make enough at Target to even pay the rent, which is now way past due (They are taking me to court at the end of the month). Needless to say my personal life is a burning pile of crap right now. To top all of that off, my car is broken so I have to walk the  2.5 miles to work every morning and another 2.5 miles home in the afternoon. I don’t know how much longer my internet will be on, because I cannot pay the damn bill. My main priority is making sure the wee ones and I do not end up living on the sidewalk.

Good vibes are appreciated. I definetely need them, because I’m about to say the hell with everything and go live in the woods like a crazy person. I’ll be back….someday.

I hate you, Demetryus. With every fiber of my being, with every breath that I take, everytime I look at our beautiful children who deserve so much better than you. How dare you do this to them. Fuck you, you bastard.
