Love you forever baby.

Even though we never met,
I know your face by heart.

Even though we never spoke,
I can hear your voice.

Even though I never held you,
I feel your weight in my arms.

Even though we’ll never lie beneath the same stars,
you will always shine above us

Eat lots of candy! Love: Gabe, Natalie & Jack 🙂

Treat bags were made by mama, in the 3 hours prior to going out 🙂 No time like the 11th hour to get things done!

A sweet surprise

I have recently been re-organizing and downsizing my life, and have come across many forgotten treasures. Old books buried at the back of my closet, a missing slipper under the bed…until today these finds- while pleasant, haven’t really been fabulous. Then came the moment when I found a roll of undeveloped film, and a undeveloped disposable camera. I brought them into Target this morning for 1-hour processing and wondered what they would contain. I figured probably some random shots of the kids from a couple of years ago (I’m REALLY bad at turning film in!) or something like that. After all, I haven’t had a film camera since the lovely Thanksgiving of 2006 when I was robbed. My camera bag that held my much loved GII Rebel also held something more precious- several rolls of film that I had taken when I was in the hospital after giving birth to Jack. Losing those rolls of film is what hurt me the most from the robbery. I would have gladly let the burgler keep the camera if he would just give me my film back. I do have several shots of Jack moments after birth, taken by my Mom with her digital camera, but only 4 or 5. Well…back to today. The disposable camera held pictures of Christmas 2006 (no camera, so had to do disposable!) and those are great. The roll of film? It has pictures of Gabriels first day of kindergarten, a few shots of the kids at our house in Virginia before we moved, and 8 precious, precious shots of my sweet baby Jackson in the hospital. What a gift fate has given me today. I have no idea how this little roll of film ended up outside of my camera bag, but I am so very, very happy to have found it.

Our last summer weekend

School starts on Monday. HOORAY! My house will now be *almost* quiet during the day, except for the terror that is almost two year old Jack! That kid has some lungs, let me tell you. We are spending our Saturday morning cleaning house and doing mounds of laundry. In addition to preparing for the start of school, my younger sister Mallory is coming for a visit tonight. Did I tell you- she’s expecting her first baby!! Her boyfriend of several years proposed to her last time she visited him (he’s in the Navy, works on the ship that Demetryus used to be on, and is currently in California, soon to be Japan.) and she is just glowing! I can’t wait to see her, she is coming to look for an apartment, since Devonte (fiance) will not be back for the birth of the baby. Such is military life. So anyway, we are getting ready for her visit today and our big picnic tomorrow. Hopefully I will remember to bring my camera this time to share kid pics! They are getting so big, I can hardly believe it. Gabe will be 8 in November, Natalie is 6 and Jack is nearly 2. Where on earth did the time go??

The cutest baby :)

I cannot believe my lil munchkin is nearly 2! Where has the time gone? I know this video has super crappy lighting (it looked better on the camera, I swear!) but check out the adorable Jack anyway!

We’re here.

And, it’s not so bad. They did quite a few renovations since I moved out last year, and so far I haven’t had any problems with neighbors or anything. We moved in last Friday, and are still unpacking the last few things. 740 square feet doesn’t stretch very far. Oh well. It’s liveable, and it’s cheap. Things could be worse! D and I have been talking a little lately, and he’s making all his usual promises to start sending child support. I’d love to believe it, but I have to have cash in hand first. Until then…we’ll see. Kids are doing well, they like the new place and their new room. They are on spring break this week, and once school starts up again next Tuesday, we’ll have a little extra walk to get to the bus stop (different school zone now, but they can still finish out the year at the old school), but even that is not so bad. Overall, life is good at the moment.

Ugh, how I wish I had a digital camera right now! My mama’s birthday is tomorrow, and I whipped her up an art bag from scratch. Cool retro print canvas, hand stitched denim applique spelling out “art” on the front, blue cotton lining with a wicked pocket, and a cool purple leather handle. It’s for her to carry her supplies to her classes and such. I can’t even begin to describe how cool it is! Maybe I’ll get mom to snap a picture so I can share. I’m so proud of it 🙂 Oh yeah, in case you didn’t know, my mom is an artist!  She and I just had a really great time at Clay Day at Artists Oasis , and made several really cool pendants. One of the ones I made is going into a swap package for a buddy over on Craftster. I’m so excited to be into swaps again…this one is Fairytales and Folklore, and I’m having an absolute blast.

So see, I’m trying to get back into the swing of things. Pulling myself out of the crushing depression of a few months ago. Living my life to the best of my ability, and enjoying my kiddos every day. Life is good 🙂

Been a while

Damn! I can’t tell you how many times I’ve started to post again, only to have something come up and prevent me from finishing. I’m going to make blogging a bigger priority now, because a) I miss my online buddies- I haven’t been reading blogs lately either! And b) I like having a “diary” of events in my life…it’s nice to read about what I was doing a year ago, 6 months ago, etc. etc. I’ve been up to quite a lot since my last post. Haven’t done an awful lot of knitting/crocheting, and what I have done is pretty boring. Pot holders and such.  I did make a hat for my brothers xmas gift and I’m working on another one right now, but they’re still not very exciting. Oh wait! Did I ever share my owl purse? I loved this thing 🙂

Hmm..what else…we got a new kitty! Her name is Baby Girl Beefcake Angelina III! And no, there never was a I or II 🙂

Of course we still have that naughty kitty Roxy, and after an initial (extreme!!) dislike of baby kitty, the two are getting along famously. I love my kitties, although I’m still jealous of Lynlee’s awesome feline!

Oh yeah- I got to meet RACHEL FREAKIN RAY!!!!!!!!

She was in town to promote her new book, and to sign, sign, sign! Chris and I got a cookbook signed for ourselves, one for his mom for Christmas, and a magazine for part of my girlfriend Elizabeth’s present. We weren’t allowed to take pictures with her, but it was an amazing experience. She is such a sweetie! Even after signing about a hundred families’ books in front of us (each person could have up to 10 books signed!) and arriving late due to a airline issue, she was still in such good spirits. My mom and I had to stand in line earlier that morning at 6 am to get the coveted wristband that allowed us into the bookstore, and then we waited in line for several hours that evening before getting a chance to see her, but it was totally worth it. And the kids were so damn good! (of course, the cookies Grandma bought them from Starbucks totally helped!!)

My first real celebrity meeting. WHOOHOOO! My big boy Gabe also had a birthday recently, turning 7 and totally making his mama feel old.

We had a very small party with just my mom, brother, and aunt who were able to come, but it was lots of fun. Spiderman everywhere! Now we’re gearing up for xmas and my sisters 21st bday on xmas eve, and working hard to pay the rent on time. Oh yeah, I got me a job! Working at Target again. Retail during the holidays? Ugh. It’s been nuts! But the pay is okay (not the best, but pretty good for the job and the area) and they are working pretty well with my schedule so it’s good. Today is a much needed day off, although they keep calling me, trying to get me to come in and cover for some of their missing cashiers. Not today buddy! I’m off to enjoy my day with my baby boy and my big boyfriend 🙂 Cya peeps!
